How to care for Jewelery ?

Things to Consider When Using Your Jewelry

Hard bumps and scratches can leave permanent marks on the surface while using your jewelry in your daily life. In order to avoid such damages, house, garden etc. Do not keep your jewelery on you as much as possible while doing business or doing sports.

When not in use, store your jewelry separately in special jewelry boxes, in their original boxes or in soft materials such as tissue paper.

When storing your jewelry in places such as jewelry boxes, be careful not to touch each other. Jewelry with different hardnesses can scratch or crush each other. Diamonds are the hardest material in the world, but if they rub, they scratch each other, causing them to lose value.

Chemical substances such as chlorine, acetone or bleach come into contact with your jewelry, causing their colors to change and dull. In everyday use, even the residues or hand creams of the soaps you use when washing dishes may remain on your jewelry and affect the sparkle.

Precious stones like pearls and corals do not like dust, sweat and cosmetics. They are very sensitive to water and hot sun. After use, it is necessary to remove the dust and store it in special boxes which do not receive heat and light. However, pearls need to breathe in order not to lose their vitality, so they should not be left closed for a long time. Perfumes and cosmetics containing acidic substances need to be re-arranged from time to time as they can rott their strings.

Diamond jewelery should not theme with water. The foil part used to provide shine in diamond products gets water and is damaged even though the bottom of the diamond is closed. Foil, which turns yellowish or brown, causes the diamond to change color. In such cases, the stone must be removed and replaced.

The stones on your jewelry should be checked regularly (at least once a year) in case they fall or disappear. For such checks, please contact the jeweler from whom you have purchased your jewelery.

For the maintenance of your jewelry;

Fill a small container with a little warm water and add soft liquid soap. Leave your jewelry (except diamond, pearl and coral) in this mixture for three to five minutes. Then, gently brush the surface of the insert with a soft bristle brush (which may be a toothbrush) and any dirt that may accumulate. Keep the jewelry under running water to leave the detergent on it, then leave it on the towel to dry or wipe gently.

Diamonds can easily take up the fat in contact with the body and can be covered with a layer of fat to affect its brightness. Alcohol can be used when cleaning diamonds, cologne can also be used in case of absence of alcohol.
